Monthly Client Highlights: December 2004 Modern Cabinet Company manufactures fine cabinetry, from kitchens to commercial woodwork and countertops. Technology in the woodworking industry advances constantly, and Modern takes full advantage of state-of-the art equipment and methods. ComSi recently developed applications and interfaces to utilize two CNC routers and an automated chop saw at Modern, integrating their order and production systems with the factory floor systems. These APL applications allow the production staff to select and optimize cabinet parts from approved orders, automatically create the CNC programs to cut and machine the materials, and seamlessly send the programs to the shop floor equiptment. The machine operators simply point and click which materials they want to process, and the system does all the programmimg and downloading, allowing them to do what they should do...run the shop floor for production! |
